| March 21 Indonesia will Experiencing Equinox Phenomenon, What is That? |
Any explanation of Meteorology and Geophysics (BMKG)?
According to Hary Djatmiko BMKG Head of Public Relations, Equinox is one astronomical phenomenon where the Sun crosses the equator. Periodically Equinox event takes place twice a year, on March 21 and September 23.
"When this phenomenon takes place, just outside the Earth is almost the same relative, including a region located in subtropical parts of North and South," said Hary in Jakarta, Wednesday (03/15/2017).
However, Hary asserted, the phenomenon does not always result in an increase in air temperature drastically, where the average maximum temperature in the region of Indonesia can reach 32-36 degrees Celsius.
"Equinox is not a phenomenon like Heatwave is happening in Africa and the Middle East that could lead to an increase in air temperature on a large and long-lasting," he said.
Therefore, BMKG appealed to people not concerned with the impacts of Equinox.
"People do not have to worry for the impact of Equinox as mentioned in a growing issue," Hary insisted.
